Zak Miller, Class XXXIII
Zak is responsible for overseeing original content creation for clients ranging from businesses to institutions to individuals. He brings a sharp understanding of the power of language to shape and tailor messaging, as well as keen insight into successful communications. Before joining Outreach Strategists in December 2008, he managed the successful campaign of Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. During this historic campaign to elect the first county-wide Latino officer-holder in Harris County’s history, Zak was responsible for the day-to-day activities, including execution, strategy, communications and administration.
During the administration of Houston Mayor Bill White, Zak served as senior correspondence writer where he handled the mayor’s citizens’ correspondence, from draft to follow-up. He also worked with the Office of Government Affairs, where he began his work as an assistant overseeing office management, legislative coordination and constituent services.
Zak holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and History from the University of Michigan and earned his Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Saint Thomas in 2008. He is an avid reader and also teaches at local colleges.
