  • What is Leadership Houston?
    Leadership Houston is a not-for-profit civic leadership program.
  • How is Leadership Houston funded?
    We are self-sustaining through tuition, dues, corporate and foundation support.
  • What is sought after in an applicant?
    The applicant must possess a sincere commitment to serve the community and better Houston. At least 10 years professional experience, and those who demonstrate leadership in their respective jobs, past community activities and / or other volunteer organizations.
  • What kinds of people are selected?
    A diverse group of people who are mid to senior level management from all sectors of the community, corporate, civic and non-profit.
  • What does an applicant do after being accepted?
    Pay the tuition and fill out the necessary paperwork to prepare for the retreat. Leadership Houston requires mandatory attendance at the Opening and Closing Retreats. Of the eight class sessions each member can miss only a total of 15.9 hours.
  • What happens after graduation?
    As an LH alumni, you are in a league of the most presigious civic leadership training programs in Houston. Alumni become involved in coordinating events for the incoming class, work on committees, serve on the Board of Directors, attend alumni programs, attend leadership development seminars sponsored by Leadership Houston, network and give back to the community.
