Leadership Houston Programs
Since 1980, fifty individuals have been chosen each year to experience an intensive education in "Who's Who and What's What" in Houston. Class members are introduced to the principle components of Houston, such as the economy, social justice, arts, healthcare, quality of place, and more. They meet the "movers and shakers" influencing each area. And from this knowledge, Leadership Houston graduates can be involved strategically in what interests them most. Strong relationships with fellow class members forge a life-long network for getting things done. Leadership Houston grads build relationships with their current class and with alumni during special networking events, sponsored by the organization, all with the goal of accomplishing great goals for Houston!
Passport to Progress
Travel the world while never leaving Houston to experience the richness in diversity our city offers. The Leadership Houston Passport Program brings community leaders together to learn about and experience customs, traditions, cultures, politics, trade opportunities and business protocols of different countries around the world. This program will build a foundation for multicultural engagement that will help us as leaders create positive change.
Youth Leadership Forum
The Leadership Forum offers high school youth a critical opportunity to gain a litany of valuable lessons: (i) insight from emerging and established leaders in our community; (ii) knowledge about our local and national government and its synergy; (iii) an understanding of how community organizations are shaping futures; and finally, (iv) a realization that with education and hard work, our youth can accomplish their dreams, regardless of the magnitude. Typically 150-175 high school students from across the Houston participate in the program. Presenters range from US Federal Judges to media celebrities from local television stations. The sponsor will be provided with branding opportunities in program advertising and significant profile on the day of the event.
Summary
We have built a stellar organization over 25 years that has made a significant impact on Greater Houston community. As we enter the next 25 years, our strategy theme of "Good to Great" appropriately describes our ambitions and plans. We believe we are developing exciting programs that will ensure we stay relevant and valuable to this community for a long time to come.
