LH Class XXVIII
Gordon Wingate is an entrepreneur and long time Houston area resident, growing up in the Westbury and Spring Branch neighborhoods. He is a Leadership Houston alumnus from Class XXVIII and was honored with the Patrice Johnson Distinguished Alumni award that year. Gordon first served on the Leadership Houston board of directors in an interim appointment in early 2011 and has been tapped to serve as Co-Chair of Leadership Houston Class XXX in 2011-2012.
Professionally, Gordon founded the IT consulting firm SynchroNet in 1987. Now specializing in complex computer virtualization and cloud computing solutions, SynchroNet started out as one of the first companies in Houston architecting networks for personal computers. Today his company provides professional IT consulting services to customers across the US and beyond in both the private and public sectors and numerous industries. Recently, SynchroNet proudly announced that Ritesh Kapadia, Leadership Houston Class XXIX, is now a full partner in the firm.
Gordon Wingate currently lives in northwest Harris County with Cheryl Guidry and their two dogs. He also serves as a board member of the National MPS Society, a rare disease research and family support organization. Gordon also is on the core team of Elves & More, a local charity that builds and delivers thousands of bicycles each Christmas to Houston area children from lower income families. His hobbies are many and diverse (as expected from an ENTP!) and include scuba diving, motorcycle restoration, aviation, sporting clays, cooking, and travel.
