Gilda Ramirez

Gilda Ramirez, a native Houstonian, joined the Port of Houston Authority in January 2002 as Manager of Small Business Development, was promoted to Director in March 2004 and most recently to Vice President.  Gilda leads the operation of the Small Business Development & Mentoring Program and the Maritime Academy.

In 2010, Gilda was recognized for her many contributions, advocacy work and accomplishments and honored with the “Women on the Move” award. In 2007, she was credited the “Hispanic Executive of the Year” award from the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  

In her capacity at the Port of Houston Authority, Gilda works with vendors and assists to promote small businesses and educate our youth on careers in the maritime industry. She especially enjoys making a difference in people’s livelihoods, the opportunity to serve the community at large and impact our future work force in a positive manner. Gilda holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration and a Boston College Certification in Corporate Community Relations.
